Associate Professor

My interdisciplinary research looks at how digital technologies can support and diversify research in Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, as well as in relation to public culture and the cultural heritage sector. My passion is in the development of knowledge graphs and Linked (Open) Data, but my publications cover a range of other topics too, from the role of gamification and informal online environments in education to 3D digital models. To date, I've worked on diverse projects in history, musicology, philology, archaeology, web science, and library & information sciences. Among my past employers and collaborators are the University of Oxford, the British Museum, the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, the National Museum of Australia, iSchool at the University of Urbana-Champaign, the British Library, the University of Waikato, Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia, the HathiTrust Research Center, University of New South Wales, and Melbourne University.
On this website I have links to my research, teaching, and projects, as well as examples of my engagements with working groups, advisory panels, thesis examinations and peer review. I'm always looking for new collaborators and opportunities to do cool things. Get in touch if you'd like to work together or even just know more about the types of things I do!
